How to Manage Multiple Reddit Accounts Without Losing Them
Your Dolphin profile opens fine. Your Reddit account died three days ago.
You open a browser profile. Everything looks normal. The fingerprint is clean, the proxy connects, the session loads. So you assume the account behind it is fine.
It isn’t. It got suspended three days ago and nobody told you.
That’s the gap 🤝 UpvotePartners ran into when we started running Reddit accounts at scale for clients. 🚀 Dolphin Anty keeps each profile isolated and believable. That’s what it’s built for. But a browser profile only knows what happens inside the browser. It has no idea what the platform thinks of the account you’re logged into.
We closed that gap with the Dolphin Anty API. Here’s the whole build, and you can copy it.
Why a clean fingerprint tells you nothing about the account
A clean fingerprint covers the environment. It says nothing about the account living in it.
| What Dolphin Anty controls | What it cannot see |
|---|---|
| Fingerprint, cookies, storage, WebGL and audio signals | Whether the account has been suspended |
| Which proxy the session exits from | How much karma it has today |
| Whether two profiles ever run at the same time | When it last posted, and whether a moderator removed it |
📌 Karma is Reddit’s public reputation score, the net upvotes an account has earned across its posts and comments. Most subreddits run an AutoModerator with a karma threshold and a minimum account age, so karma is not vanity. It’s the gate.
That right column is what we needed, and it only exists outside the browser.
What UpvotePartners does and how it fits a Dolphin Anty setup
UpvotePartners is an agency dedicated entirely to organic Reddit growth and AI visibility, working with international consumer brands and VC-backed startups. Reddit is the only channel we operate on. Everything is 100% organic: native posts in the communities our clients’ customers already trust, never ads. Our contracts carry a monthly impressions target written into them, refunded pro rata if we miss it.
That focus is why ☝️ infrastructure matters as much as content here. On Reddit an account takes months to build and one bad session to lose.
And Reddit forces you into multi-accounting whether you like it or not. A single account can’t credibly participate everywhere. Our fleet runs personas like SysAdmin, backend dev, founding engineer, CTO, SRE. The backend dev has no business reviewing running shoes, so he never does. That client gets a different persona instead. Push one account across every topic your clients need and the history stops looking like a person. It starts looking like a tool.
The setup: one account, one profile, one proxy
Our baseline rule is simple and we never break it.
- One Reddit account
- One Dolphin Anty profile with its own unique fingerprint
- One dedicated static residential proxy, matched to the persona’s location
- One dedicated email address
- Sessions run sequentially, never two profiles open at the same time
Location matching is where most fleets get sloppy. If a profile belongs to someone based in Zurich, the proxy exits in Switzerland, the timezone follows, and the posting hours make sense for someone who lives there. A persona that posts at three in the morning local time every day is telling on itself.
⚠️ We got one thing wrong early on, and it cost us a profile. We had one declaring an Apple M2 Max with two CPU cores.
That machine does not exist. Nobody sells it.
A fingerprint like that isn’t anonymous, it’s memorable in exactly the wrong way. If you spoof a specific chip, make sure the core count and the memory match a configuration someone could actually buy.

The problem with checking accounts by hand
Once you have a fleet, you need the state of every account before you plan any content. Is it old enough for this subreddit? Does it have enough karma? When did it last post? Is it even still alive?
We checked by hand for a while. Open a profile, look at the account, close it, move to the next one. That works at five accounts. It breaks fast after that.
❗ The time wasn’t the problem. The checking was.
Look at manual verification from Reddit’s side. The same IP address, loading the same set of user profiles, over and over, day after day. Sometimes in a private window to avoid being logged in, which changes nothing because the IP is identical.
That’s a pattern. We were building a footprint that connected our accounts to each other through the very act of making sure they weren’t connected.
So we stopped opening accounts to check them. We pulled the data from outside instead.
The bridge: using the Notes field as a join key
The whole system rests on one field.
Every Dolphin Anty profile has a 📋 Notes field. We write the Reddit username of the account that lives in that profile, and nothing else.
That single line turns Notes into a join key. On one side, the browser profile with its fingerprint, its proxy and its tags. On the other, a Reddit account with its own public data. The username in the notes is what ties them together.

It’s trivial. It’s also why nothing downstream needs a spreadsheet, a naming convention or any manual mapping. The link lives inside Dolphin Anty, so it stays accurate as profiles get created, renamed or reorganized.
Setting up the workflow: from profile list to updated tag
Dolphin Anty exposes an API, and that’s why we treat it as infrastructure rather than as a browser. The job runs once a day.
First, it queries the Dolphin Anty API and reads every profile, including the Notes field, then extracts the Reddit username attached to each one.
Second, it queries Reddit for each of those usernames and pulls back what we care about: total karma, comment karma, post karma, account age, date of last post, date of last comment, and whether the account is live or suspended.
Third, everything lands in one table where we see the whole fleet at once.
Fourth, it writes back to Dolphin Anty and updates each profile’s tag.
⚠️ One caveat, because it’s the limit of the whole approach. A suspension is visible from outside: the account stops returning data. A shadowban often isn’t. The profile still loads, the posts still exist for the author, and they’re invisible to everyone else. The sync catches bans reliably and shadowbans only sometimes, which is why we still read the room manually on accounts that matter.

WARM UP, READY, BAN: the three tags we run
Three states, visible directly in the Dolphin Anty profile list.
| Tag | What it means | What we look at | What we do with it |
|---|---|---|---|
| WARM UP | Still building history | Low total karma, or almost no comment history behind it | Leave it alone. Comment, don’t post. |
| READY | Enough age and genuine history to publish | Around 5 months old and up, three figures of karma, and more comments than posts | Client work goes here, and only here |
| BAN | Account is gone | Reddit stops returning the account | Retire the profile, rebuild the persona |
The third column is the one people get wrong. 🙌 Total karma isn’t the signal, the ratio is. We run accounts sitting at 754 karma still tagged WARM UP, because that karma came from 577 posts and only 177 comments. Meanwhile an account at 128 karma is READY, because almost all of it came from commenting. An account that only posts doesn’t read like a member of a community. It reads like a publisher.
The tags are useful because of where they live: inside Dolphin Anty, next to the launch button, not in a doc nobody opens. And because they update on their own, nobody has to remember to maintain them. Every status field we updated by hand was out of date within a week.
A few things worth knowing before you start
- Match your proxy geo to your persona geo. Static residential, one per account. Shared and datacenter IPs get flagged fast, and one flagged IP takes down everything behind it.
- Put the join key in the Notes field from day one. Retrofitting it across an existing fleet is the boring kind of painful.
- Run the sync on a schedule, not on demand. The data has to be there before you need it, not after you’ve decided to publish.
- Comment before you post. The accounts we lose are the ones that published too early.
- Keep the fingerprint internally consistent. Real chip, real core count, real memory.

FAQ
What does a Reddit marketing agency actually do?
It builds and runs a network of credible accounts, writes content that communities actually accept, publishes it in the subreddits where a brand’s customers already spend time, and tracks the results. The job is less about posting and more about keeping accounts alive long enough to carry content that matters.
What is UpvotePartners?
UpvotePartners is a Reddit marketing agency working with international consumer brands and VC-backed startups. Reddit is the only channel it operates on, everything is 100% organic, and every contract includes a guaranteed impressions target.
Is it against Reddit’s rules to run multiple accounts?
No. Reddit allows multiple accounts. What it forbids is using them to evade a ban, manipulate votes or fake consensus. We never let two of our accounts touch the same thread. That line is the difference between a fleet that lasts and a fleet that gets wiped.
How long does it take to warm up a Reddit account?
Ours sit around five to eight months of real activity before they carry client work, and the clock matters less than the comment history behind it.
What do you do when an account gets banned?
We retire the profile rather than reusing it, and we rebuild the persona from scratch on a fresh proxy. Recycling a burned profile to save setup time is how one ban turns into three.
Can the API tell me if an account is shadowbanned?
Not reliably. A suspension shows up immediately. A shadowban usually doesn’t, so treat the sync as your ban detector and your own eyes as your shadowban detector.
Final thoughts
🔥 Dolphin Anty is one of the most capable antidetect browsers for multiaccount work. But the profile is only half of it. The account living inside that profile has its own state, its own history and its own standing with the platform, and none of that is visible from the browser.
Connecting the two through the API is what turns a folder of browser profiles into something you can actually operate. The pattern isn’t Reddit specific either. Any platform that exposes public account data feeds the same loop.
If you’d rather have someone run the Reddit side for you, that’s what UpvotePartners does.
